Residents should never leave their Unit door open or unlocked. The Manager may keep a key to all original locks for emergency entrance to the Unit. A lockout is not considered an emergency. If a resident has changed the lock or other extenuating circumstances require a forced entry during an emergency, the Unit Owner , not the Association nor the Manager, will bear the expenses of lock replacement and any damage incurred.
KNOX BOX
Owners are required to submit up to date copies of their keys to their unit’s front and back doors to the Portland Fire Dept. to be locked in the Knox Box located in the vestibule and used by the Fire Dept. in the event of a fire or emergency. Owners should contact the Portland Fire Dept. to arrange a site visit at which time the Fire Dept. will be able to unlock the Knox Box and update their keys so that they are current. Owners are also required to submit up to date copies of their keys to the Association, which are also securely stored, to be used in the event of an emergency requiring access to a unit. Owners should tag a set of keys with their unit number and place them in an envelope, depositing the envelope in the #6 mailbox located at the bottom of the Grand Stairway.
LOCKOUTS
Because there is no lockout system in place to service the Condominium, residents are strongly encouraged to hide a spare key to avoid any lockout issues. If you are locked out of your Unit, you will need to call a Locksmith such as Lock Stock & Barrell at 207-773-2904.
